Freedom Challenge #1

With the Freedom challange week coming up we have already had a couple of meetings to discuss possible ideas.

What is Freedom Week?

Freedom Challenge is a team-based challenge for NZ youth to
take action for human rights. Your mission is to hold an event in
support of our Freedom Challenge campaign to raise money and awareness
and to recruit people to Amnesty and your group.

Some ideas floated so far include:

Holding a consciousness day on the first Monday:

  • Making Tibetan Prayer Flags. and flying them around the school for the following two weeks.
  • Selling chocolate mousse as a fundraiser.
  • Holding a debate on politics in sport and/or a performance to highligh human rights.
More information is available at:

website www.freedomchallenge.org.nz is due for launch soon, and will feature more info on this year's theme and your two human rights defenders. This year we also have a Freedom Challenge facebook page - visit www.facebook.com and search for Freedom Challenge 2008, and a Freedom Challenge bebo page - http://www.bebo.com/FreedomC10

Keep up the good work.
